Unity With Principle
We the people of the newly drawn First Congressional
District have a great deal in common with each other! We all have families, we all have similar needs,
and we all want what is best for our families, our homes, and our communities.
When politicians are elected to federal office, they are
elected to represent the interests of the people who elected them. However, when Republicans and Democrats go to
Washington D.C., they are informed by their respective parties that they are in
those offices to represent the party first, and the people of their district
second. When I say that I want to
represent the will of the people in the First, I am saying that I want to put
more money back in your pockets by reducing the size and scope of government
programs while returning that control to the people!
Health Care Finance Reform
The debate on healthcare continues. It continues largely due to a disagreement on how it should be handled. One of the problems associated with health care finance has to do with the lack of transparency regarding the cost of testing and procedures. I will author legislation that, once enacted, will allow people to find out how much they are paying. This
will offer health insurance providers and subscribers an opportunity to change or purchase policies that allow the opportunity to shop around
as with any other service.
The Department of Education has been instituting programs that are not helping our children to be prepared to
compete in tomorrow’s job market. It
needs to be shut down in favor of returning control of our children’s education
back where it belongs, in the hands of the parents and the teachers at the
most local levels.
The politicians in Washington D.C. have sent our people to fight in conflicts that have increased the size of our nation's debt, destroyed homes, leveled hospitals, and leveled schools in many nations around the world. Too many can't remember a time when the United States was not initiating military aggression. Being a The

our nation's debt, destroyed homes, leveled hospitals, and
leveled schools in many nations around the world. Too many can't
remember a time when the United States was not initiating military
aggression. Being a veteran who has worked with “Wounded Warriors,” and “Face
of America,” I have seen the end result of what happens to our people in these
conflicts. I would work to see an end to
these endless wars of aggression.
Many people are concerned about The Environment. There has been a myriad of solutions proposed, but many ignore simple methods that will both protect our rights, save tax dollars, and protect our environment, and these methods can be put into place today. I am referring to increasing protections surrounding the ownership of private property. When we protect private
property, as we say that companies are free to do as they wish, we also say that they must take ownership of their pollution as it crosses their property line and interferes with the private property rights of others. Whomever that company is, like anyone else, that company must make it right.
